Several months ago, Todd Gosden of Avenue Mortgage came to us and posed an idea for a new video. "I want to do a few videos about falling interest rates, but make them fun and creative."
Game on.
We tossed around a few ideas and ultimately came up with three separate scripts to illustrate his point. The first one that we shot was the video above. We think it turned out really well, but in order to get to that point, a few things had to be done....
First, we had to find a way to rig Todd in order to make it appear that he was flying during our video. We enlisted the help of Hall Flying Effects. We shot in the studio, and they came with all the equipment necessary to make Todd soar!
Second, the shoot itself! We shot with a Cannon 5D Mark III with MagicLantern in RAW. Visual effects was the last step on our journey, and also the most time consuming. When doing a visual effect, try and think about how the camera would actually be in that world. So, if I were filming this, I'd be free-falling next to Todd, most likely with a wide angle camera strapped to my head. We tried to simulate what that would look like. Below you can see (a few of) the stages of processing.
We had a ton of fun with this video. Todd is exactly the type of client that we love to work alongside, and we're really excited to see what we make together in the future! In the next few weeks, we'll show off a couple of the other videos we have been working on with Todd.
